FAQs
How do I prepare for a video session?
Upon scheduling a consultation, you will receive a confirmation email providing a clickable link to our video chat. You can access it beforehand, yet it will not begin until our scheduled time. At that time ensure you have allowed mic and video access. If you have any external equipment such as headphones or a speaker that are connected to your computer either through bluetooth or wire, you will find an option to connect to your equipment. You may use your phone, tablet or computer during this time.
Preparing for the full session entales a computer or tablet to be set up with the camera facing your chosen area of rest. This may be a recliner, couch, or bed. I highly reccomend a comforable headset or stable airpods so you and I can both hear each other fluently, especially if your computer is positioned further away. If a headset is uncomfortable or you do not own one, it may be sufficient enough to have your computer close in proximity. (we will also do a sound check)
During the duration of the session, ensure that you have complete privacy while also making sure your environment is quiet. We want to make sure you consciously and subconsciously feel safe to freely express everything that comes to the surface. It would also be of benefit to be in a dimly lit room. Enough light for me to see you, but enough dark for you to relax and receive imagery.
Are video sessions as beneficial as in person sessions?
Both in person and distance sessions are equally as beneficial. The induction process does not differ within either session. Many people actually prefer to be in a safe place at home. The important aspect is the visible interaction and ability to hear one another.
I'm a heavy coffee drinker, will this effect the session?
Heavy caffeine usage can effect the level of relaxtion you reach. I suggest preparing by weaning off the amount you drink little by little a week in advance. (If you typically drink 3-4 cups a day, bring yourself to 1-2 cups atleast 6 hours before your session) You do not have to quit, but we also don't want you feeling like you are going to fall asleep. Overall summary, the less caffeine the more beneficial.
Will the session be recorded?
Yes, your session will be recorded and sent via email at your request. I use WeTransfer and Google Drive to share your session. You may then download it to your device upon receiving the link. Allow for up to 48hours transfer time.
How aware will I be?
A calming inner environment in which you are deeply relaxed yet coherent and aware is achieved in most sessions. This access to theta brain waves and relaxation is best for the retrieval of subconscious memories and information. It overall feels natural and at times can cause sensations in the body such as heaviness, tingling, and/or weightlessness. This is all normal and specific to each individual.
It is also possible to reach a very deep somnambulistic state which causes you to forget portions of the session. During this time, the inneraction continues and you do not at any point loose control, yet what may change is the depth and vastness of the detailed information that is retrieved during this time. This is where the benefit of recording our session comes into play.
What do I expect with an in person session?
Firstly, I recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early in order to ground into ease. You may take a few minutes while you wait in your car to consciously connect your breath to your body. This will help calm any nerves or excitement and bring you into the present moment. If you arrive during closed store hours, send me a text (I will provide you with my phone number) when you are ready and I will come unlock the doors. Otherwise, during open store hours you are welcome to come in and browse around until I am ready to welcome you back into our healing room.
The healing room will be softly lit with a table and chairs to acquaint ourselves for a few moments and then we will begin. During this time we will silence our devices and have you lye down on the comfortable and portable healing bed. A clean blanket will be provided and the lighting will be brought down a notch lower. We will focus on breathwork and the beginning on the relaxing induction. The session will now be in progress and end at the time you have scheduled. At the very end, I leave roughly 5-10 minutes available to have you reorient yourself back into a grounded state. At this point we will be complete :)
